The family story began in 1923 when Louis Lafont opened an optical boutique in the Madeline area in Paris, France. Once retired, Louis’ son Jean assumed responsibility of his father’s business.
The year was 1972 when Phillippe, Louis’ grandson along with his wife Laurence created their own brand, Les Lunettes Lafont. It was then that the Lafont brand was created.
In 2012 after four generations and five optical shops added to their name, today Lafont is a top designer of unique and stylish frames. Lafont is now proud to offer an exclusive partnership with select customers, creating a Lafont Boutique Experience inside their own optical. Cabinet’s replicating the furniture in the Parisian shops, adorns premium vendor’s with the Lafont flavor and “art de vivre.”
